About Me

I am an Assistant Clinical Professor of Urology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. I have performed thousands of circumcisions over my 40 years of practice. I am certified by the American Board of Urology and as a Mohel by the Brit Milah Board of Reform Judaism. I believe that a Bris should be performed with the health and safety of your child as the paramount concern. With that in mind, I utilize the same single use, disposable medical supplies that we use in the hospital nursery and an anesthetic cream or local anesthetic so that your son is comfortable. Welcoming your son into the Covenant of Abraham is a joyous occasion and the first Mitzvah in the Torah. I would be honored to help you with this milestone.

About Your Bris

A bris is a traditional Jewish ceremony that involves the ritual circumcision of a male newborn. The primary purpose of a bris is to fulfill the commandment (mitzvah) found in the Torah, where God instructs Abraham to circumcise himself and all the males in his household as a sign of the covenant between God and the Jewish people.

A bris is usually performed on the eighth day after the baby's birth, counting the day of birth as the first day [if born prior to sundown]. A bris is of such importance in the Jewish faith that it is permitted to be performed on all days including Jewish holidays and the Sabbath.

I would be honored to perform your son’s Bris and look forward to discussing further.
